1. Introduction
EM-Creations ("we", "us", "our") operates the Android applications listed below (each an "App", together the "Apps"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Apps collect, how it is used, and your rights in relation to that information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Both Apps are designed to be used without collecting any personal data. Where the two Apps differ — in the permissions they request and the network requests they make — this policy says so explicitly.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information through either App.
Neither App requires you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal details. Neither App contains any code that transmits information about you to EM-Creations.
Network activity — Canadian Facts
Canadian Facts loads images from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org) over the internet. This is the only network request that App makes. When your device fetches an image:
- Your device's IP address is sent to Wikimedia's servers as part of the standard HTTP request.
- Wikimedia Commons is operated by the Wikimedia Foundation. Their privacy policy applies to these requests: https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Privacy_policy
Canadian Facts does not send your IP address or any other data to EM-Creations.
Network activity — TintVision
TintVision makes no network requests at all. It does not hold the Android INTERNET permission, so it is not technically capable of sending or receiving data over the internet.
TintVision offers an optional reading speed test. If — and only if — you choose to start it, the App asks your device to open the following page in your own web browser:
That request is made by your browser, not by TintVision. As with any visit to any website, our web server receives the standard request information — your IP address, the time of the request, and your browser's user agent string — and records it in its access logs. These logs are used only to operate and secure the site. The reading test page itself contains no analytics, no advertising, and no cookies, and the result of the test is calculated in your browser and never sent to us. Your browser's own privacy policy and settings govern this request.
Settings stored on your device
TintVision stores your preferences locally on your device using Android's standard preference storage — your chosen tint colour and opacity, and the reading guide's size and position. This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the App. TintVision also excludes its settings file from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so these preferences are not copied off your device by the operating system either.
3. Permissions
The Apps request the following Android permissions, and no others:

No other permissions are requested. Neither App requests access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or any other sensitive resource.
4. The screen overlay (TintVision)
To do its job, TintVision uses Android's "display over other apps" permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW). Because that permission can sound intrusive, we want to be explicit about what the App does and does not do with it.
TintVision only draws. It paints a translucent coloured layer and a solid bar on top of whatever is on your screen.
TintVision cannot and does not:
- read, capture, record or screenshot the contents of your screen;
- read the contents of other apps, or detect which app you are using;
- intercept, log or transmit anything you type;
- register as an Android Accessibility Service, or use any other mechanism that would give it access to on-screen content.
The tint layer does not receive your taps — touches pass straight through it to the app underneath. Only the small drag handle on the reading guide bar accepts touch input, so that you can move the bar up and down the screen.
You can revoke this permission at any time in Android under Settings → Apps → TintVision → Display over other apps.
5. Analytics and Advertising
Neither App contains any analytics, any advertising SDKs, or any third-party tracking. No usage data is collected or shared by either App.
6. Children's Privacy
Both Apps are suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk to children's privacy. The Apps comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and equivalent regulations.
7. Data Retention
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. The preferences TintVision stores on your device (see section 2) are removed when you uninstall the App, or when you clear its data in Android settings.
8. Your Rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, rectify, or erase. If you have concerns, please contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be published at the same URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of either App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
